I have the same question Report abuse. Details required :. Cancel Submit. Sumit Independent Advisor Independent Advisor. It requires you to be signed in on both PCs with same Microsoft Account. After the upgrade you would find Windows not activated. Then run the activation troubleshooter and select I recently changed hardware on this device. After linking your Microsoft account, run the Activation troubleshooter to reactivate Windows To use the Activation troubleshooter: Sign in as an administrator.

For more info, see Create a local user or administrator account in Windows Open Activation settings Select I changed hardware on this device recently, then select Next. Enter your connected Microsoft account and password, then select Sign in. The troubleshooter will only work with the connected Microsoft account. Select Activate.
