You could not be any more cryptic with your useless “encountered an error during setup. I tried the following and it worked fine,, it seems the error is related somehow to the task scheduler. If you have had any version of office installed previously on you computer, you’ll find a folder in the task scheduler library named “Office”.

To delete the folder from the task scheduler Library, open the control panel, then the administrative tools, then “Task Scheduler”.

Scroll down to the task scheduler library and delete the folder named “Office”. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Search the community and support articles Install, upgrade and activate Microsoft and Office Search Community member. I have tried everything to install Office Standard , I uninstall all office, and cleaned the computer.

Start install and then get the message. Even reinstalled windows I am totally hitting a brick wall here. This thread is locked.
